Jyotirmay Dalapati, a freelance artist and printmaker, has his own studio in his hometown at Uluberia. He is a practiced artist at Lalit Kala Academy, Kolkata. Presently, he is working as an Assistant Professor at Bangalore Chitrakala Parisatha. He obtained his BFA degree in Graphics in 2011 from Indian College of Art and Craftsmanship where he stood first class first. In 2013, he completed his MFA in Graphics from Rabindra Bharati University, once again obtaining the first class first honour. He got the national award in 2015 from Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi. His artworks have been exhibited at Jahangir Art Gallery, Maharashtra and AIFACS, New Delhi apart from several galleries in India and abroad viz. Norway, Istanbul and Portland. Other awards to his credit are 2nd Print International Biennale Award, Bombay Art Society Award, Academy of Fine Arts Award, Oriental Art Award, State Academy Award and Charukala Barshik Pradarshani Award. According to him, “The subject matter of my printing and painting composition is based on dreamland which arises out of conscious and subconscious mind and thoughts and which has been designed substantial to supply materials for human livelihood by effecting and flashing the same.”
