He qualified BVA from the Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata in 2001. In 2009, he arranged solo exhibitions at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi and Shree Art Gallery, Kolkata. Ashis participated in several group shows from 2007 till date at several art galleries all over India and a few abroad at Singapore, Bangladesh and Dubai.
